Before you begin

Three quick checks so your eSIM installs smoothly the first time.

eSIM-compatible phone

e.g. iPhone XS or newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer, Google Pixel 3 or newer. Dial *#06# to check for an EID number.

Network-unlocked

Your phone must not be locked to a specific carrier. If you bought it on a contract, ask your operator to unlock it.

A Wi-Fi connection

Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi before you travel. Don't activate data until you arrive at your destination.

Activate & use your data

Do this when you land at your destination. Your plan's validity starts once the eSIM connects to the local network.

Turn the eSIM line on

Go to Settings and switch your AlfareedLine eSIM line on.

Turn Data Roaming on

For the AlfareedLine eSIM, turn Data Roaming ON. This is required abroad and will not incur home charges — it's a local plan.

Select it for Cellular Data

Set the AlfareedLine eSIM as your line for Cellular/Mobile Data. Keep your own number for calls and SMS if you like.

You're connected

Open a browser or map to confirm data works. If not, toggle Airplane mode once or restart your phone.

Good to know

Install before you travel

Add the eSIM while you have Wi-Fi. Activation happens automatically when you arrive.

Keep your primary line

Use your home number for calls and WhatsApp, and the eSIM for data — best of both.

Don't delete the eSIM

Keep it installed for your whole trip. If it gets deleted, reinstalling may be possible depending on the network provider — contact support before deleting it.

Turn off your home line's data

Disable data roaming on your normal SIM to avoid surprise charges from your operator.

Troubleshooting

Most issues are fixed with a quick setting change or a restart.

No service after I arrived+
Make sure the eSIM line is on, Data Roaming is ON for it, and it's selected for Cellular Data. Then toggle Airplane mode once, or restart the phone.
I can't scan the QR code+
Use manual entry instead: enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code (or the full LPA:1$… string) from your order page or email.
Connected but no internet+
Confirm the AlfareedLine eSIM is the selected line for Cellular Data and Data Roaming is on. If your plan needs an APN, set it as instructed in your order details.
Where do I find my QR and codes?+
They're in your completion email and on your order page under My Account › Orders. Open the order to view the QR, SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code.
Is my phone compatible?+
Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Check your model on our compatible devices list, or dial *#06# — if you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.
I deleted the eSIM by mistake+
Reinstalling may be possible depending on the network provider. Contact our support team with your order number and we'll help you.
